The United States is the number one destination in the world for international students who want to complete their bachelor’s and advanced university degrees. Foreign students preparing to attend colleges and universities in the US must submit proof of their competency in English before gaining admission.
Classes in the Academic English Program include rigorous attention to reading for academic purposes, critical writing skills, and speaking and listening skills especially suited for participation in the American classroom. In addition, students become acculturated to the American university system. Students learn how to thrive in the American system, which places a high emphasis on independent, original thinking, classroom participation and the avoidance of cheating and plagiarism.
Our students in the Academic English program range in age from 18 to 45+, depending on whether they are preparing to enter undergraduate or graduate-level college and university programs. All are required to show evidence of English language proficiency in order to succeed in college or university.
