About the Author
Jan Pilcher
Jan Pilcher has been an English teacher at BridgeEnglish since June 2010. She has been in education for 30 years, teaching English and Spanish in American high schools, and has also held positions in public relations and political advocacy organizations. She has taught ESL to immigrant and refugee groups at the Community College of Denver and in community programs. At the University of Denver, she managed a graduate student leadership program for international students. Since 1977, she has hosted international visitors for the Institute of Education (IIE) and occasionally tutored long-term IIE guests. Jan received a B.A. in English Literature and Composition from Mt. Holyoke College, S. Hadley, MA; an M.A. in Psychology from Regis University, Denver, CO; Colorado State Teacher Certification from the University of Colorado, Boulder, CO; and an International Diploma in English Language Teaching (IDELT) from Bridge in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has traveled extensively in Asia, Latin America and Europe.
