About the Author

Josh Mickelson

Josh received his bachelor’s in international relations, Spanish and Russian studies from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. During college he studied abroad at the University of St. Petersburg in Russia and through this experience he first became interested in international education. After teaching English to immigrants and refugees in the US, Josh served two years with the Peace Corps in Bulgaria, teaching English at a high school for Western European languages. The time he spent abroad taught him the value of international education and has enabled him to better understand the goals and concerns of English students at Bridge.
