This means that teachers and students speak only English in the classroom; translation is strongly discouraged. In our, we use an exclusive series of DVDs combined with dynamic classroom instruction and personal interaction. Our methodology is designed to make students comfortable using the new language in practical, everyday situations, such as traveling, meeting people, using the telephone, conducting business, and participating in conversations.
The vocabulary and structures presented in our DVDs, texts, and workbooks have been extensively tested, and are designed to be introduced gradually and systematically. This process helps you learn the essentials of the language, while communicating easily and effectively in English.

 No Translation in Class
BridgeEnglish's direct approach means that students and teachers speak
only English during class. There is never any translation in the classroom
and this helps students to think and speak in English. With our "English-only
policy," you will learn English quickly, easily and naturally.
Teacher Rotation
The people you speak with every day all have different accents, vocabulary, and pronunciation. Therefore, it is important that you not become accustomed to just one teacher. At BridgeEnglish, we rotate teachers, exposing you to many types of speakers and ensuring that you understand the language in a variety of situations. Teacher rotation also keeps class fresh and interesting.
Emphasis on Communication
The BridgeEnglish methodology focuses on speaking and listening, so that you can quickly improve your conversational skills. Grammar, reading, and writing are also important, and we teach those skills through a practical and communicative approach without being tedious, boring, or repetitive. | Academic English Program Methodology: |

No Translation in Class
As in all BridgeEnglish courses, students and teachers in our speak English only during class. There is never any translation in the classroom, which helps students think and speak in English, increasing the rate of learning.
Teacher Rotation
Each level of the consists of three classes daily, each of which is delivered by a different teacher. This instructor rotation exposes students to many types of speakers, ensuring that you understand the language in a variety of situations while giving you the consistency required in academic classes. Teacher rotation also keeps class fresh and interesting.
Lecture Practice
Higher-level classes may include some lectures to give students additional listening and note-taking practice. These are key skills for successful university study where all instruction is delivered in English.
Homework
Homework is an important aspect of the Academic English Program. It is used to preview or review materials presented in lessons, as reinforcement of learned concepts, and to provide practice of the educational objectives of the program.
Assessment
There are on-going assessments of student progress throughout each level of the program. Modes of assessment vary from weekly quizzes and unit tests to regular standardized testing. The program measures student progress and provides feedback on students' successes and areas that might still need improvement. |
