Meet the people who make BridgeEnglish one of the best English Schools in the USA



Richard Brown
Director
The Director of BridgeEnglish, Richard has been with us since 1986. He graduated with a degree in European History and began his career in English as a Second Language (ESL) in 1973 as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Thailand, where he taught English in a high school. Following that were two jobs with the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Defense, first teaching in Al Taif and then managing the same English language program in Riyadh for the K.S.A. Ministry of Defense. In Denver, he has worked in various ESL programs serving immigrant and refugee communities. He has also traveled extensively in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.


Emily Knox
Operations Manager
Emily has been with BridgeEnglish since early 2005 and is now our Operations Manager. She has various teaching experience, including ESL (English as a Second Language), skiing, and physics. Emily has a great deal of travel experience on four continents and loves meeting people from all over the world. She received her undergraduate degree from St. Lawrence University in New York and her TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate from BridgeTEFL.


Leigh Benrahou
Admissions Coordinator
A sociology graduate of Western Maryland College, Leigh spent over a year studying in Morocco. Throughout college, she worked at various non-profit organizations as an ESL (English as a Second Language) tutor. After graduating, she received her TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) certification and moved to Denver in 2005. Leigh worked at BridgeEnglish as an ESL instructor for two years before moving up to admissions and student services in 2006.


Lais Wild
Education Coordinator
IELTS Administrator
Lais received her Master’s Degree in Communications with a specialization in Journalism with honors in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Her journalism experience includes all forms of media: newspaper, public relations, internet, and television. Specifically, she interned at the most prestigious and widely recognized channel in South America - Globo.

Lais is particularly dedicated to her job because she relates to her students; after she moved to the US, she became an ESL student at BridgeEnglish. For this reason, Lais has a genuine enthusiasm for advising her students.


Marsea Lou Wynne
Evening Supervisor
Marsea studied Spanish at the University of Washington, University of Colorado, and the University of Madrid, Spain. She taught English as a Second Language to executives in Madrid and later continued teaching ESL in the USA for visiting students and immigrants. Marsea was a high-tech corporate consultant in the printing industry for over 15 years, and subsequently established her own successful graphics studio. Most recently she founded a local nonprofit art school for photographers.

In 2006, Marsea received her TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate and returned to her first love—language teaching. She joined BridgeEnglish as a teacher and is now overseeing our evening program for our English, Spanish, and other Foreign Language classes.

Most of our teaching staff is composed of individuals who have their TEFL/CELTA Certificates, and/or their Master’s degree in ESL and overseas teaching experience.
Many of our staff are also IELTS Examiners certified by the University of Cambridge ESOL. As a student, you'll find that our instructors are not only qualified, but also extremely friendly, patient, and enthusiastic about teaching.

 


Timothy Samuelson
Head Teacher
General and Academic English Programs
Tim has been an instructor at BridgeEnglish since January of 2007. After receiving degrees in Business Marketing and Spanish from Colorado State University in 2004, Tim completed his TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certification in Madrid, Spain. As head teacher at BridgeEnglish in Denver, Tim trains new teachers in our conversational method and teaches group and private classes of all levels, including the Academic English Program.
